Displaying Annotation Views

You can display annotation views with several methods. Right-click an annotation view and select:

  • Activate. Displays the annotations contained in the selected view. An arrow indicates when an annotation view is active. You can also double-click an annotation view to activate it.

  • Orient (available when an annotation view is already activated). Displays the annotation view normal to its plane.

  • Activate and Reorient. Displays the annotations contained in the selected view and displays the annotation view normal to its plane.

  • Show (available when an annotation view is not activated). Displays the annotations contained in the selected view, but does not activate the view. Show is helpful when you want to insert an annotation in one view, but you need to see annotations from another view. A view whose annotations are visible, but not activated, has a blue icon .

  • Hide (available when an annotation view is not activated). Hides the display of annotations in the selected view.

If you insert a 3D annotation in a sheet metal part, a Flat pattern annotation view is automatically created in the Annotations folder. When you select the Flat pattern annotation view, the Flatten tool is unavailable.
