Saving Files as Image Files

You can save as image files all file types that you can open in the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer.

  • The image in the exported file matches the size, color depth, and resolution of the screen display.

  • The image includes entities such as cross sections, markup comments, measured dimensions, and so on.

  • You can view these image files in most image viewers.

To save files as image files:

  1. Click File, Save As.

  1. Set Save as type to:

BMP Files (*.bmp)

GIF Files (*.gif)

JPEG Files (*.jpg)

PNG Files (*.png)

TIFF Files (*.tif)

  1. Type the File name, then click Save.

Raster Images in DWG Files

SolidWorks eDrawings supports insertion of certain images as raster images in DWG files. The image must accompany the DWG file.

Image Type

Operating System

BMP (including RLE and DIB). BMP can be mono, 16 color, 256 color, or 24 bit.

JPG
 

All supported operating systems

GIF, PNG, TIFF
 

Windows XP or later
