Using Custom and Default File Properties in Equations

You can include custom and default file property values in equations for parts and assemblies.

To add custom and default file properties to equations:

  1. Click Tools > Equations and click Add to add an equation or Edit to modify an equation.

    You can also right-click Equations in the FeatureManager design tree and select Edit Equation or Add Equation.

  2. In the Add or Edit Equations dialog box, click in the lower right corner.
  3. From Global variables and file properties, click a variable or file property to use in an equation.

    Icons differentiate the variables and file properties:

    Global variable
    Custom Property
    Default Property
    You can also click a variable or file property under Equations in the FeatureManager design tree to add it to the equation.
