Basic Lighting Controls

To add a light source:

  1. Right-click Lights, Cameras and Scene art\litefldr.gif or any existing light.

  2. Select Add Spot Light (or Add Directional Light, or Add Point Light).

    - or -

    Click View, Lights and Cameras, Add Spot Light (or Add Directional Light, or Add Point Light).

To delete a light source:

  1. Click to expand Lights, Cameras and Scene art\litefldr.gif.

  2. Select Spot (or Directional, or Point) and press Delete.

    - or -

    Click View, Lights and Cameras, Delete, Spot (or Directional, or Point).

  3. Confirm the deletion.

To turn off a light, without deleting it:

  1. Click to expand Lights, Cameras and Scene art\litefldr.gif.

  2. Right-click the light source and select Properties.

    - or -

    Click View, Lights and Cameras, Properties, Ambient (or Directional, Spot, or Point).

  3. In the PropertyManager, click On/Off .

To modify the lighting properties:

  1. Click to expand Lights, Cameras and Scene art\litefldr.gif.

  2. Right-click the light source and select Properties.

  3. Edit the properties as needed. The light properties that are available depend on the type of light source. See:

As you edit each light, a graphical representation of the light source is displayed, indicating the color and direction of the light.

  1. Click .

To display all lights in a model:

Click View Lights (View toolbar) or right-click Lights, Cameras and Scene art\litefldr.gif and select Show Lights.
