Flange Parts
A flange is often used at the ends of a routing
run to connect the pipe or tube to a fixed component, such as a pump or
tank. Flanges can also be used to connect long straight sections of pipe.
Some sample flange parts are supplied with
the software. You can create your own flange parts by editing the sample
part file or creating your own part file. See Routing File Locations
for the location of sample parts and for recommendations on where to store
new parts you create.
You can also use the Routing
Component Wizard in the Routing Library Manager to prepare
a part for use in Routing. |

To create a flange part:
Create a part that meets the geometry requirements
for a flange.
Create a connection
point where the pipe exits the flange. The connection point
must be:
Optionally, you can include a specification
parameter so you can filter configurations.
Create a route
point (optional). The route point enables you to:
Insert a design table to create configurations.
Save the part in the Routing
library specified in Routing
File Locations.
When a flange is used as an end fitting in
a route, its position can either drive or be driven by the position of
the route sketch. See Mating
in Routing Sub-assemblies.
