Configuration Data Items

The following list defines all of the items in the Configuration data items tree (listed with solid bullets) and in the Edit item box (listed with hollow bullets). The items from the Configuration data items tree are sorted alphabetically.

  • Approval. Records the approvals given for the product.

    • Level. The level or purpose of the approval

    • Status. The status of the approval

  • Date/Time [Role]. Records the dates of events, and the context of the event. (The SolidWorks software does not currently record the times of events.)

    • Date. The date of the event

    • Role. The context of the date

  • Organization. Represents groups of people, such as companies or departments within a company.

    • ID. The identifier of the organization

    • Name. The name of the organization

    • Description. A brief description of the organization

  • Person. Contains the information about a person.

    • ID. The unique ID of the person

    • Prefix title. Optional prefix title of the person, such as Dr., Mr., Mrs., and so on

    • First name. The first name of the person

    • Middle name. The middle name of the person

    • Last name. The last name of the person

    • Suffix title. Optional suffix title of the person, such as Jr., Ph.D., and so on

  • Person/Organization Role. Defines the role that a person performs for an organization.

    • Role. The role that the person in the organization performs

  • Product. Lists the exported parts and assemblies.

    • ID. The identifier of the product

    • Name. The name of the product

    • Description. A brief description of the product

  • Product Category. Assigns products to categories.

    • Name. The name of the product category

    • Description. A brief description of the product category

  • Product Definition. Establishes specific life cycle stage views of the product data.

    • ID. The identifier of the person whose views of the product are shown

    • Description. A brief description of the product

  • Product Definition Formation. Records version information for parts and assemblies and tracks their sources.

    • Version. The version of the product

    • Description. The reason for the creation of the version

    • Source. The source of the product

  • Security Classification. Records the sensitivity of the information.

    • Purpose. A brief description of the security clearance

    • Security Level. The level of security clearance
