Adding Controls to Splines

To add tangency control:

  1. In the Edit Sketch mode, select a spline.

  2. Click Add Tangency Control (Spline Tools toolbar) or Tools, Spline Tools, Add Tangency Control to display a new handle.

  1. Drag to place the handle.

  2. Click to position the handle.

  3. Use the handles to control tangency.

  1. Click OK .

To add curvature control:

  1. In the Edit Sketch mode, select a spline.

  2. Click Add Curvature Control (Spline Tools toolbar) or Tools, Spline Tools, Add Curvature Control to display a new curvature control pointer.

  1. Drag to position the handle.

When you drag the curvature control pointer and it shifts sides, it indicates that you crossed an inflection point. To display inflection points, right-click and select Show Inflection Points .

  1. Click to position the handle.

  1. Select the ball of the curvature control pointer and drag in either direction along the vector handle to adjust the radius of curvature.

  1. Click OK .

To insert spline points:

  1. Select a spline.

  2. Click Insert Spline Point (Spline Tools toolbar) or Tools, Spline Tools, Insert Spline Point.

The pointer changes to .

  1. Click to position the spline point .

The spline point adds a spline handle.

  1. Insert additional spline points.

 

 

 

  1. Click OK .
