XML Variable Alias Sets Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to define mappings between attributes in an XML file and variables on a data card.

An alias set replaces the data card variable name with an alternative name when the export rule generates the XML file. When an import rule runs, the alias set replaces the alternative name with the data card variable name. Alias sets can be used with data card variables only. You cannot use them with system-defined variables such as Configuration or Name.

To display this dialog box, expand Vault > Data Import/Export, right-click Variable Alias Sets, and select New Alias Set.

Set name The name is available in the Import Rule and Export Rule dialog boxes.
Variable Select a data card variable to map.
Alias Type the alias that appears in the XML file.
