You can import vault settings by dragging and dropping a setting from an Export dialog box opened from another vault or the File Explorer.
The Export dialog displays all the settings for an object. For example, an exported BOM contains the variables used in the BOM and the users or groups with permissions to access the BOM.
To import settings from an Export dialog box:
-
Open an export file by doing one of the following:
-
In the File Explorer, navigate to a .cex file containing the settings and double-click the file.
- In the Administration tool, log in to the source vault, expand the feature containing the settings, right-click the object to export, and click Export.
An Administrative Export File dialog box opens, listing the exported object, including settings such as variables and cards that are used by the object.
- In the Administration tool, log in to the target vault.
-
In the Administrative Export File dialog box, click the object to import and drag it to the appropriate folder.
You can also import a supporting setting by dragging it to an appropriate feature. For example, you can import just a variable used in the exported object.
- If a message box warns you that an object you are importing already exists in the vault:
- Click Yes to overwrite the existing object with the settings in the imported object.
- Click Yes to All to overwrite any existing object with a corresponding new object.
- Click No to retain the original settings of the object.
- Click No to All to retain the settings for all objects that already exist in the vault.
- When a message confirms the completion of the import, click OK.
