Simulation Study Tree

The Simulation study tree organizes an analysis study. Its functionality is similar to the FeatureManager tree. You can use the menu system or the Simulation study tree to manage analysis studies. Because of its intuitive representation and context-sensitive right-mouse menus, the Simulation study tree is preferred over the menu system.

The software creates a tab at the bottom of the graphics area for each study. To view a study, click its Simulation study tab. Subfolders define the parameters of the study. For example, each structural study has a Fixtures, External Loads, and Connections subfolder. Load definitions appear in the External Loads folder, restraint definitions appear in the Fixtures folder, and contact definitions appear in the Connections folder. You can organize fixtures, loads, and connectors into folders.

Right-mouse menus provide context-sensitive options. Drag and drop (or copy and paste) and duplicate help you to define subsequent studies quickly.

The Simulation study tree provides a convenient view of the most important information of analysis studies in a document.

Each Simulation study tab represents one study. Each study contains a folder and subfolders in its tree. The subfolders depend on the study type. The software assigns a unique icon to each study type for easy identification of the study type.

Note: The Parameters icon displays if there is a defined parameter in the study.

After a successful run of a study, the software creates result plots in the Results folder as specified in result options, or updates existing result plots.
