Update or Reload From Vault

You can update documents on your local drive to the version in the vault. You can also reload documents from the vault or from disk with the SolidWorks Reload command.

If the local copy of the file is read-only, SolidWorks Workgroup PDM asks if you want to overwrite the file. If you click Yes, the file is overwritten with the file's attribute changed to write access.

To update a single document from the vault:

Right-click a document in the local view and select Update/Reload From Vault.

If the vault copy is newer than the local copy, the update occurs immediately. A message appears if the vault copy is the same or older than the local copy, and you can choose to update the document or cancel the operation.

To update all documents in a folder from the vault:

  1. Right-click a document in the local view and select Update/Reload All From Vault.

  2. In the dialog box, select or clear the following options and click OK.

Update documents in the following states

Local version is older than vault version (recommended)

Local version is the same as the vault version

Local version is newer than vault version (not recommended)

Update under the following conditions

For SolidWorks documents, select from the following conditions:

  • Document is currently open in SolidWorks (reload)

  • Open and contains unsaved changes (not recommended)
