Custom Column Dialog Box

You can sort components using custom and configuration-specific properties defined in the component files. You can create equations involving those properties, and use the results to sort components.

To access the Custom Column dialog box, in the Assembly Visualization panel, click the arrow to the right of the column headers and click More.

Properties Sets which component property to list in the Assembly Visualization panel. Available properties include:
SW-Density
SW-Mass
SW-Material
SW-Rebuild Time
SW-SurfaceArea
SW-Volume
Quantity

Custom and configuration-specific properties defined in the component files are also available. If SolidWorks Sustainability is installed, its properties are also available.

Column header Sets the name that appears at the top of the column. Type a name or use the default that appears for the selected property.
Use Formula Activates the equation field.
Sets the equation that calculates the values listed in the Assembly Visualization panel. To create an equation, select numerical items from Properties and type operators and numbers. Available operators:

Addition

Subtraction

Multiplication

Division

Exponentiation

Example equations:

"SW-Volume"*"Quantity"

("SW-SurfaceArea"/144)*"Quantity"
