IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted Method (ISldWorks)

Gets whether SolidWorks has finished opening a drawing document, which requires a lot of CPU time and no user input, in a background process.

.NET Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Function IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted( _
   ByVal FilePath As String _
) As Boolean
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As ISldWorks
Dim FilePath As String
Dim value As Boolean
value = instance.IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted(FilePath)
bool IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted(
   string FilePath
bool IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted(
&   String^ FilePath

Fully qualified path and filename of the drawing document opened in a background process

Return Value

True if background processing is finished, false if not

SolidWorks recommends that you only use this method with ISldWorks::EnableBackgroundProcessing when you can open a drawing document quickly via user interface, but that same drawing takes significantly more time to open when opened programmatically.

To more efficiently open a drawing document, that requires a lot of CPU time and no user input, programmatically:

  1. Set ISldWorks::EnableBackgroundProcessing to true.
  2. Open the drawing document by calling either ISldWorks::OpenDoc6 or ISldWorks::OpenDoc7.
  3. Repeatedly request the status of the open operation by calling ISldWorks::IsBackgroundProcessingCompleted.
  4. When the open operation is finished, set ISldWorks::EnableBackgroundProcessing to false.
