Locking Dimensions

Use Smart Dimension Tool_Smart_Dimensions_Relations.gif to select:

Distance between two points at an angle

Angular dimensions

Use the pointer to control positioning.

pointer_mouse_dimension_unlock.png Pointer is unlocked. Change the measurement and the position of the dimension.
pointer_mouse_dimension_lock.png Pointer is locked. Measurement is locked; dimension position is available.

To lock a dimension:

  1. In an open sketch, click Smart Dimension Tool_Smart_Dimensions_Relations.gif (Dimensions/Relations toolbar) or Tools > Dimensions > Smart.
  2. Click the items to dimension.
  3. Move the pointer pointer_mouse_dimension_unlock.png until the preview indicates the dimension type you want.
  4. Right-click to lock pointer_mouse_dimension_lock.png the dimension type.
  5. Move the pointer around until the dimension is correctly located.
  6. Click to place the dimension.
  7. Set the value in the Modify box and click button_Save_Modify.gif.
