Preview does not need referenced files

When a user previews a file of this type, do not download (cache) referenced files. This option can significantly improve performance when previewing files with references, such as drawings and assemblies. Some preview applications can load the drawing or assembly without requiring that all referenced files are local.

When not selected, any non-cached references (or older versions when working with latest version option) are downloaded so that the preview can load the entire reference tree.

This option affects only the Preview tab. All other operations cache references.
Support Item generation

Allows items to be created from files of this type using the File Explorer Generate Item command or the Item Explorer New Item From File command. See Items.

By default, this option is enabled only for CAD part and assembly file types. These types define product structure for which Enterprise PDM can automatically generate item structure. You can enable item generation for other file types, but it is more typical to link existing items to non-CAD files than to generate items directly from them.

This option is not enabled for CAD drawings by default. Enterprise PDM statically links drawings to the corresponding part or assembly item. Selecting this option enables the Generate Item command for drawings, but the behavior does not change; separate items are not generated for drawings.

The file type can have drawing nodes with the following extensions During file check in, limits the search for drawing references to the extensions listed.

Type extensions without periods (.), and separated by commas (,).
