Using Automatic Relations

You can choose whether geometric relations are automatically created as you create sketch entities.

Depending on the sketch entities and the position of your pointer, more than one sketch relation can display simultaneously.

Video: Sketching with Automatic Relations

To select or clear automatic relations:

  • Do one of the following:
    • Click Tools > Sketch Settings > Automatic Relations.
    • Click Options Tool_Options_Standard.gif, Relations/Snaps, and select Automatic relations.

To temporarily suppress automatic relations, hold down Ctrl while sketching.

As you sketch, the pointer changes shape to show you which relations can be created. When Automatic relations is selected, the relations are added.
