Setting Transition Rights

You can assign permissions to control whether users or groups of users can send files through a transition.

To assign transition rights:

  1. From the workflow editor, click the transition you want to edit.
  2. In the Properties dialog box, on the Permissions tab, click Add Users/Groups.
  3. In the Add Users/Groups dialog box, select groups or individual users to have permissions to run this transition.

Select one or more groups or expand All Users or a group to select individual users.

Type a string in the Filter field to display only users and groups whose names contain that string.

  4. Click OK.
  5. On the Permissions tab, in the left column, select a user or group.

Use the Shift and Ctrl keys to make multiple selections.

  6. In the right column, select a check box in the table below to grant the permission or clear a check box to remove the permission.

Permit Can send files through the transition.
Disallow sequential state changes Cannot perform two sequential state transitions. For example, use this option to prevent users from approving their own files.

  7. To save your changes, click Save workflow_editor_save (Administration toolbar) or File > Save.
