Using the Tag Scheme Manager

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Tools > Routing > Routing Tools > Routing Library Manager , and click Tag Scheme Manager .
    • From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > SOLIDWORKS version > SOLIDWORKS Tools > SOLIDWORKS version Routing Library Manager > Tag Scheme Manager .
  2. For Scheme name, type a name for the scheme.
  3. Click Create Scheme.
  4. In Scheme view, select the scheme name from step 3.
  5. In Tag scheme type, select the scheme type.
  6. For Enter an example tag, type a sample tag that is used in the P&ID file.
  7. Under Define fields:
    1. In Field name, select the type of field for the specific subtag you are defining, or select Custom and type a Custom field name.
    2. Under Field delimiter, select either:
    • Specific character, and type the delimiter character. Select Include delimiter only if the delimiter is required to interpret the subtag.
    • Number of characters to define the length of the subtag.
  8. In Field data, verify that the subtag you defined is correct. If it is incorrect, modify your selections under Field delimiter.
  9. Click Add to Tag.

    The subtag you defined appears in blue in Example tag field values and under Scheme view.

  10. Repeat steps 7 through 9 for the remaining subtags in the tag. Define each subtag in sequence, according to the order in which it appears in the tag.
  11. Click Save.
