Manually Creating Shut-off Surfaces

To manually create a shut-off surface:

  1. In the Shut-off Surface PropertyManager, set the fill type for the hole to No Fill.
  2. Using tools on the Surfaces toolbar, create two identical surface patches for the hole - one for the cavity surface and one for the core surface.
You can use Offset Surface tool_Offset_Surface_Surfaces.gif on the Surfaces toolbar, with Offset Distance set to 0.00, to create a copy of the surface patch you create.

The surface patches appear in the Surface Bodies folder fm_surface_bodies.gif in the FeatureManager design tree.

  3. Drag one surface patch into the Cavity Surface Bodies folder fm_surface_bodies.gif, and one into the Core Surface Bodies folder fm_surface_bodies.gif.
