Attachments

You can attach a non-SOLIDWORKS document to a document in the vault during check in or in the vault view. You can attach the document to SOLIDWORKS or non-SOLIDWORKS documents, but you cannot attach a SOLIDWORKS document to other documents.

Attaching a Document During Check In

To attach a document during check in:

  1. In the Check In Document dialog box for a non-SOLIDWORKS document, click Attach to another document?.
  2. In the Select a Document to Attach To dialog box, select a document in the Vault.
    The name of the document appears in the Document name box.
  3. Click OK to complete the attachment.
    The document name and other information appears in the row above the row for the document being checked in.
  4. Continue the check in procedure.

Attaching a Document in the Vault View

To attach a document in the vault view:

  1. Right-click a document in the vault view.
  2. Select Add Attachment.
  3. In the Select Attachment dialog box, select a document.
  4. Click OK to complete the attachment.

To remove an attachment:

In the vault view, right-click the attached document (not the document to which it is attached) and select Remove Attachment.

The attachment is removed immediately.
