Dynamic Mirror Sketch Entities

Select the Dynamic Mirror Entities tool to first select the entity about which to mirror, and then sketch the entities to mirror.

If you want to mirror pre-existing sketch entities, select the Mirror Entities tool.
To display this PropertyManager, in an open sketch, click Dynamic Mirror Entities Tool_Dynamic_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif (Sketch toolbar).
You can mirror 2D sketches or 3D sketches on sketch planes.
You can mirror sketches about any these entities:
  • Centerlines
  • Lines
  • Linear model edges
  • Linear edges on drawings
To mirror about a linear drawing edge, the sketch entities to mirror must lie within the boundary of the drawing.

As you sketch the entities, they are mirrored about the pre-selected sketch entity. Restrictions to Dynamic Mirror Entities include:
  • Pre-existing sketch entities cannot be mirrored.
  • Both the original and the mirrored sketch entities are included in the final result.

Select the sketch entity about which to mirror. Only the newly sketched entities are mirrored.

Mirroring Sketch Entities as You Sketch Them

To mirror sketch entities as you sketch them:

  1. Select a line or a model edge in an open sketch.
  2. Click Dynamic Mirror Entities Tool_Dynamic_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch Tools > Dynamic Mirror .
    Symmetry symbols appear at both ends of the line or edge.
  3. Create the sketch entities that you want to mirror. The entities are mirrored as you sketch them.
  4. To turn mirroring off, click Dynamic Mirror Entities Tool_Dynamic_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif again.
