Perspective and Rendering

When you create a PhotoView 360 rendering, for the most realistic results, you should add a camera with perspective or at least turn on perspective view.

Except when you explicitly want to render using an orthographic view, viewing a model from a perspective view is more realistic. Our eyes never view real world objects in an orthographic view. A perspective view allows PhotoView 360 to more accurately calculate reflections, shadows, and lighting. In addition, a view through a camera with perspective gives you the highest possible level of control for your viewing position, field of view, and focal length.

The following example shows a simple block with a brushed surface finish that is illuminated by a directional light.

Without perspective, the effect of the directional light is not realistically represented in the brushed material.

With perspective enable, the rendering effect of the light on the block is more accurate.
