Creating Web Server Configurations

Use SOLIDWORKS PDM Web server configurations to group vault Web shares so that you can specify what is available to the different user types accessing the vault.

You must set up at least one configuration per SOLIDWORKS PDM Web server to add vault Web shares.

For example, an engineer might need access to all company vaults, whereas a customer may only need access to a certain published PDF folder in one vault. To support these types of user accesses, you could create two Web server configurations: one for the engineers with Web shares to all vaults and a second configuration only containing one vault folder Web share.

To add a Web server configuration:

  1. Right-click the Web server name and select Add Configuration.
  2. In the Add Configuration dialog box, type a name and description.

    The name is informational. It does not have to match any vault or folder name.

  3. If you specified a secure URL in the Web server properties, you can select Use secure connection (SSL) to use SSL for this configuration.
  4. Click OK.
The configuration is created under the server name.

To view or modify its properties, right-click and select Properties.
