  • Floor appearance

Create a model in SolidWorks.

Open PhotoWorks Items in the Task Pane, select the Appearances folder, and drag polished steel.

Click .

In the PhotoWorks Studio, select Infinite White Floor and Rendering Quality of Medium. The scene:

  • Depicts a spherical environment sized to complement the model.

  • Includes a photographer's studio as background.

  • Sets up a lighting scheme automatically.

  • Sets rendering quality, which in turn sets anti-aliasing quality, the number of reflections and refractions, indirect illumination, and shadow control. The first rendering is an opportunity to test various settings (such as environment and lighting) at a lower quality, which takes less time.

In the PhotoWorks Scene Editor, on the Room tab, select  Porcelain for the Floor and make it Visible.

  • The porcelain floor reflects the model and light from a spot light.

In PhotoWorks Options, on the Document Properties tab, set Anti-aliasing quality to High.

  • High anti-aliasing quality takes more time but results in sharper images. This setting is often left until the final rendering.

  • Properties set in dialog boxes such as Scene Editor and Options would be reset if you returned to the studio.
