Solid/Surface Creation PropertyManager

The Surface Wizard can automatically create surfaces or guide you to create surfaces. To best control the surfaces, use Guided creation.

  • Automatic creation. You set and preview the desired surface detail (number of surfaces). You can edit feature lines to extract more desirable surfaces. Feature lines form the boundaries between regions. ScanTo3D then creates a solid automatically. This method is useful for organic and anatomical objects.

  • Guided creation. You identify regions of the mesh to create sub-meshes using Automatic and optionally Manual Painting, then extract surfaces. This method is useful for objects that contain areas that you can extract as analytic surfaces, such as planes, cylinders, etc.
