Removing Files from the Working Folder

You can remove files from the local cache when you no longer need them.

You can remove files:
  • Individually, when you check them in to the vault
  • From an entire folder or vault by clearing the local cache
Removing a file from the local cache does not affect the file in the vault.

Removing Local Files During Check In

To remove local files during check in:

  1. Select the files to check in and click Check In .
  2. In the Check in dialog box, under Remove Local Copy, select the files to remove from the working folder.
  3. Click OK.

    Files selected under Check In are checked into the vault. Those that are selected under Remove Local Copy are also removed from the working directory.

Clearing the Local Cache

Clearing the local cache removes all files that are not checked out from the working folder.

To clear the local cache:

  • Right-click a folder and select Clear Local Cache.

    If you selected any folder other than the vault root, cached files are removed.

    If you selected the vault root folder and SolidWorks Toolbox is not managed in this vault, a confirmation prompt appears. Click Yes to remove cached files.

    If you selected the vault root folder and Toolbox is managed in this vault, the Clear Local Cache dialog box appears. By default, Toolbox files are not cleared from the cache. To remove Toolbox files, clear Do not remove Toolbox files and click OK.
