Spherical Scenes

Spherical scenes can be:

  • Virtual geometry

  • Image-based

Virtual geometry

Spherical scenes based on virtual geometry comprise two hemispheres, one above and one below the floor.

If you render a scene and the result is black, it is possible that you are looking at the scene from outside the sphere.

Choose these Scene Editor environments for predefined virtual geometry-based spheres:

Sphere checker environment
Sphere neon environment
Sphere sky environment

Image-based

PhotoWorks Studio scenes, except Dark Room, are spherical.

Images are wrapped onto the sphere and can appear on reflective appearances (but not as background); for example, the default photographer's studio is reflected on this model.

To create an image-based spherical scene manually:

  1. Click Scene (PhotoWorks toolbar) or PhotoWorks, Scene.

  2. On the Room tab, clear Visible and Reflective for all items under Visibility and appearances.

  3. On the Back/Foreground tab, select Scaled image or Tiled image, choose an image, then click Open.

  4. Under Environment, select Enable spherical environment.

  5. Click Apply.
