Installing the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer

SolidWorks eDrawings is available as a free download. eDrawings is installed on a per-machine basis, or on a per-user basis, based on the user privileges at the time of installation.

Per-machine basis: If the user has administrator privileges when installing eDrawings, all users on the machine can run this single copy of eDrawings using their own login information.
Per-user basis: If the user does not have administrator privileges when installing eDrawings, the installed copy of eDrawings is valid only for that user. If multiple users want to run eDrawings on this machine, all users must install eDrawings using their own login information.

To automatically integrate eDrawings with your CAD application, you must install your CAD application before installing eDrawings.

If you install eDrawings before installing your CAD application, eDrawings is not integrated with your CAD application. In this case, you must modify the install through Add/Remove Programs and choose to install your CAD application's Publisher to integrate eDrawings with your CAD application.

eDrawings supports administrative install. Refer to Microsoft for Windows Installer information.

Performance Feedback

When you install eDrawings, you can enable performance email, which sends an email regarding the performance and usage of the software. SolidWorks Corporation uses this information to determine trends concerning product usage and quality. All information contained in the log files is treated confidentially. It is not used for any other purpose and no one will contact you. For further information, see www.solidworks.com/pages/services/customerexperiencefeedbackprogram.html.

You can change this setting under Tools, Options, General, Enable performance feedback.

SolidWorks eDrawings Professional

SolidWorks eDrawings Professional functionality is incorporated in the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer and is activated by licensing, including purchase of SolidWorks Professional or SolidWorks Premium. For more information, contact your reseller.

SolidNetWork License (SNL)

SolidNetWork License (SNL) supports SolidWorks eDrawings Professional. SNL allows users to install more seats of the eDrawings Professional software than they have licenses for, by floating the use of those seats without exceeding the number of licenses purchased.
