BOM Configurations, Quantities, and Referenced Properties
You can compute configuration-specific BOMs for assemblies that have
more than one configuration. When your administrator sets up a computed
BOM so that quantities reference configurations, you can compute BOMs
with different quantities for different configurations.
To recompute a BOM for multiple configurations:
Click a document in the file view and select the
Bill of Materials tab to open a BOM.
Select a configuration from the Configuration
list.
Optionally, save the BOM under a new
name.
Referenced Properties in BOMs
Enterprise PDM stores references to file properties in the database,
including:
Reference Count
(computed quantities), which can be overwritten in computed BOMs
Referenced properties, such as values of selected
variables
You can edit referenced variables that are displayed in computed BOMs
after checking out the associated assemblies.
Your administrator can change the name of
the Reference Count column in
a BOM. See your administrator to find out which column represents part
quantities or other referenced variables.
To edit quantities of a computed BOM:
Check out the assembly used to create the computed
BOM.
Click a cell of the Qty
(quantity) column in a computed BOM,
and change the quantity.
Save
the BOM.
To reset the quantity in a computed BOM:
Check out the assembly used to create the activated
computed BOM.
Modify quantities in the BOM.
Right-click a cell that has a modified quantity,
and select Use Computed Quantity.
The quantity reverts to that of the most
recently saved activated BOM.
Save
the BOM.
