Standard Cables and Tubes
You can create a library of standard cables and tubes. The information
for standard cables and tubes is stored in an Excel spreadsheet. The Standard Cables and Tubes PropertyManager
appears when you insert a standard cable or tube into an assembly, add
items to the library, or delete items from the library.
A sample Excel file is located at <install_dir>\data\design
library\routing\standard
cables and tubes.xls. You can add your own cables and tubes to
the sample file or create a new Excel file based on the sample file format.
To insert a standard cable or tube:
Click Electrical,
Standard Cables.
In the PropertyManager:
Under Filename,
browse to the Excel file that defines your standard cables and tubes.
Select Cables
or Tubes.
Under Available
Cables (or Available Tubes),
select the cable or tube to be inserted.
Click Insert
Cable (or Insert Tube).
Place the cable or tube in the assembly.
To add a cable or tube to the library:
Click Electrical,
Standard Cables.
In the PropertyManager:
Under Filename,
browse to the Excel file that defines your standard cables and tubes.
Select Cables
or Tubes.
Click Add
New Cable (or Create Tube).
Specify the definition of the cable or tube
to be inserted.
Click
.
Repeat steps a - c to add more cables or tubes.
Click
.
The new cables and tubes are added to the
Excel file.
To delete a cable or tube from the library:
Click Electrical,
Standard Cables.
In the PropertyManager:
Under Filename,
browse to the Excel file that defines your standard cables and tubes.
Select Cables
or Tubes.
Select the cable or tube to be deleted.
Click Delete
Cable (or Delete Tube).
Repeat steps a and b to delete other cables
or tubes.

The cables or tubes are deleted from the
Excel file.
