Mating to Origins and Coordinate Systems
You can apply a coincident mate between the origin or a coordinate system
of a component and the origin or a coordinate system of:
The assembly.
Another component.
If you also select to align the axes, the one coincident mate fully
constrains the component.
This is useful in designs with modular components whose positions and
orientations are fully defined.
You can use SmartMates to
create mates involving coordinate systems and origins. Pointer
indicates a potential mate between two coordinate systems
or between a coordinate system and an origin. When you drop a component
to create a coordinate system SmartMate, you can select Align
axes on the popup toolbar.
