Editing File Properties

You can view the properties of linked files. You can edit the properties only if you have the file checked out, which you can do from File Explorer.

1. Right-click a file link and select Properties.
2. From the Properties dialog box, click the tab.
   • General - Contains read-only information such as the creation date and version number of the file.
   • File Data Card - Contains information specific to the file type (file extension). The content, layout, and options vary by file type.
   • File Permissions - Specifies which groups have permission to see the file.
     This tab is available only if you have rights to set file permissions.
   • Custom - Available for SolidWorks files only.
3. Click OK.
