Collecting Support Information

You can run the Collect Support Information wizard to collect information about a vault. The wizard creates a single package that you can send to technical support.
You must be logged in as the Admin user to run the wizard.

The Collect Support Information wizard lets you:

  • Specify logs and settings to collect.

Options include archive server, Enterprise PDM client, and local event logs, registry and environment information, database statistics, version numbers of all installed Enterprise PDM .exe and .dll files, and all installed add-in packages.

  • Select folders and files to include in the support package.

The .zip file created by the wizard maintains the archive server folder structure if you include archives.

  • Create a backup of the SQL database.
The backup is not added to the package. You must provide the backup manually to technical support.
  • Include special instructions or problem descriptions.

This input is saved as AdditionalInformation.txt in the package.

  • Specify the location where the support information package is saved.

See SolidWorks Enterprise PDM Administration Tool Help: Vaults > Collecting Support Information.
