Exported Workflow Links

When you export workflows as .cex files and then import them into a vault, Enterprise PDM maintains any links between workflows.
Workflow links are only maintained in .cex files when you export a workflow from SolidWorks Enterprise PDM 2011 or higher.

To see this functionality:

  1. In an Enterprise PDM archive, create vaults A and B.
  2. In vault A, create two workflows.
  3. Right-click in the first workflow, and select New Workflow Link.
  4. Select the second workflow as the workflow to link to.
  5. Save the workflows.
  6. Export both workflows to a .cex file.
  7. Import the .cex file into vault B.
  8. View the workflows in the Workflow editor.

    The workflow link is maintained.
