Running the Design Checker Task

You can run the Design Checker task in File Explorer or from the Administration tool.

To initiate the task in File Explorer:


  1. Select the files to check.
  2. Click Actions > Tasks > Design Checker.

To initiate the task in the Administration tool:


  1. Click Tasks > Task List.
  2. In the Task List dialog box, click Add Task.
  3. In the Add Task dialog box, select Design Checker.
  4. Use the Select Files and Folders for Design Checker dialog box to select the files to check, then click OK.

In both File Explorer and the Administration tool, when the task runs, the Design Checker template card displays to let you specify:


  • The .swstd file to use.

    The standards file must be checked in to the vault.

  • Whether to auto correct failed checks.
  • Where reports and logs generated by the Design Checker task are saved.
