Group Import from Active Directory

If you have defined the Archive server login type as Windows login, you can now import groups, group memberships, and email addresses from Microsoft Windows Active Directory®.

Importing groups from Active Directory lets you quickly set up the Enterprise PDM environment to be the same as the environment throughout your organization.

You can import Active Directory groups:

  • When you add or edit a group
  • When you add a new user

New users are added to Enterprise PDM groups with the names they have in the Active Directory groups.

See SolidWorks Enterprise PDM Administration Tool Help: Importing Active Directory Users into Groups.
