Check Out Dialog Box

Performs check-outs of multiple items for editing.

To display the Check Out dialog box, right-click one or more items and select Check Out. The dialog box appears for multiple selections or items that contain child items.

Toolbar Buttons

The toolbar buttons provide quick access to commands that are also available on the right-click menu.

SLW_select_files.gif Select Files Opens the Select Files dialog box, where you can specify a wildcard pattern to select items.
SLW_open_file_list.gif Open File List Opens a list of items in Microsoft Excel.
SLW_save_files.gif Save File List Lets you save the item list as a comma-separated .txt file.

Item List

To show or hide columns, right-click in the list and select Columns > column_name.
File Name

Item ID.

Result
Expected operation result:
OK Operation will succeed.
info Additional status information.
warning Warning conditions exist. Your administrator can configure which warnings block operations.
error Operation is blocked.
To quickly locate files with warnings or errors, click Ctrl + the up-arrow or down-arrow on the numeric keypad.
Check Out

Select items to check out for editing. The latest versions of selected items are retrieved. When an item is selected for check out, the corresponding Get check box is always selected.

Get

Select items to retrieve read-only copies of the latest versions. Clearing both Check Out and Get leaves the local item unchanged (as though you had not selected it for this operation).

Local Ver.

The first number is the local (cached) version, or a hyphen (-) if locally modified. The second number is the latest version in the vault. For example, 4/6 means version 4 of 6.

Checked Out By

User who has the item checked out, or blank if not checked out.

You cannot check out an item that is already checked out.

Checked Out In

Computer and local folder where the item is checked out, or blank if not checked out.

Referenced as

Specifies how a parent item references a child item. For items, the reference is always a full path.

Found in

Vault folder containing the item.

State

Workflow state of the item, such as Under Editing or Waiting for approval.
