Item Folders

Item folders organize items into groups. Use item folders to make browsing for items easier and to set folder-level permissions.

Item folders appear only in the navigation pane of Item Explorer. The main pane shows items and item structure only.
Item folders can contain items and subfolders. Item folders cannot contain files.
Operate on item folder content by right-clicking a folder and selecting a command. For example, to check out all items in a folder and any subfolders, right-click the folder and select Check Out.
An administrator can make an item folder accessible to particular users and groups, and not accessible to others.
Item folders exist only in the vault database. They do not exist on your local file system and are therefore not visible from File Explorer.

You can remove obsolete item folders from the vault.
Viewing and Editing Item Folder Properties

You can view and optionally edit item folder properties.
