Obtaining a License File

You can use the SolidWorks Customer Portal to obtain your license file for Enterprise PDM.

Alternatively, you can obtain a license file by contacting your reseller or the SolidWorks Customer Center.

The license file is a .txt file, with one of the following names:

  • SNL_FLEXID=6-A6308DC9.txt

    When the license file is generated manually at the Customer Center.

  • snl_license_email.txt

    When the license file is generate through the SolidWorks Customer Portal.

To obtain a license file using the SolidWorks Customer Portal:

  1. In a browser window, enter the URL http://www.solidworks.com.
  2. At the top of the screen, click Login.
  3. On the Login screen, click SolidWorks Customer Portal.
  4. On the SolidWorks Customer Portal screen, type your Email Address and Password and click sign in.
  5. On the Self-Service screen, under My Support, click Register My Products.
  6. On the SolidWorks eRegistration screen, type your Serial Number and click Next.
  7. Click My Products and then click, Get License.

    A license file is mailed to the the email address associated with your SolidWorks Enterprise PDM account.

  8. When you receive the email, copy the license file (text file) to your hard drive.
