You can configure SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM to capture user and system data for
each approver participating in a parallel approval process.
The software stores user and system data for use as the variable value. When a user you select approves the transition, SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM displays the value in data cards that use the variable.
The following procedure describes a parallel transition with two roles -- Engineering and Manufacturing. To complete the transition, one approval is required from each role.
To set a parallel approval data mapping:
- Expand Workflows and select a workflow.
- Select a transition.
- In the Properties dialog box, for Type, select Parallel.
- On the Actions tab, click Add Action.
- In the dialog box, for Type, select Set Variable.
- Select a Variable and enter a Value.

- Expand Mapped Approvers and select approver from the Engineering role and click OK.
- Repeat steps 4 through 6 to set the following variable for the second approver.
