Ambient Light PropertyManager

Ambient light illuminates the model evenly from all directions in SOLIDWORKS only. You can modify the intensity and color of ambient light. You can turn the Ambient light on or off, but you cannot delete it or add additional Ambient lights.

To display this PropertyManager:

In the DisplayManager, click View Scenes, Lights and Cameras . Under Lights, right-click Ambient and select Edit Light.

Basic

On in SOLIDWORKS Switches the light off or on in the model.
Edit Color Displays the Color palette, so you can select colored light rather than the default white light.
Ambient Controls the intensity of the light source. Move the slider or enter a value between 0 and 1. A higher value results in more light. The level changes equally on all sides of the model.
The results depend on factors including the color of the model, the level of ambience (intensity), as well as the color of the light. For example, changing the color of the ambient light produces more noticeable results with high ambience than with low ambience.
