Editing Comments

There are several edits you can make to comments:
  • Amend information in text, cloud, or dimension elements.
  • Change Properties on the Markup pane in Tools > Options.
  • Revise text in the Description box.
  • Change the shape and location of geometric elements.
  • Delete comments.
  • You can edit only your own comments.
  • For parts and assemblies, you can edit only the active comment. For drawings, you can edit all active and inactive comments. To activate a comment, select it on the Markup pane.

To amend information in text, cloud, or dimension comments:

  1. Double-click the cloud or text in the graphics area.
  2. Edit the text in the text message box, then click button_OK.gif.

Revising Comment Properties

To revise comment properties, do one of the following:

  • Click Options tool_Options.gif on the Markup pane.
  • Click Tools > Options and select the Markup tab.
  • Right-click a comment in the markup comments tree and select Properties.
  • Right-click a markup element in the graphics area and select Properties.

Revising Comment Descriptions

To revise the description:

  1. On the Markup pane, select a comment.
  2. Edit the text under Description.

    The edits to the description are saved automatically.

Changing the Shape and Location of Geometric Elements

To change the shape and location of geometric elements:

  1. Select the geometric element in the graphics area.
  2. Drag the handles Handle.gif to edit the shape of the geometric element.
  3. Drag the element (not the handles) to move the geometric element.

Deleting Comments

To delete comments, do one of the following:

  • Select the comment on the Markup pane, then press Delete.
  • Right-click the comment on the Markup pane and select Delete.
  • Right-click a markup element in the graphics area and select Delete Comment.
