Prerequisites and System Requirements

Before installing SOLIDWORKS Visualize and SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost, you must have the following prerequisites for each machine:
  • a SOLIDWORKS Visualize serial number
  • a SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost serial number
Each computer running SOLIDWORKS Visualize or SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost must meet these requirements:
  • Windows® 7 or newer (64-bit)
  • Dual core CPU; Quad core recommended
  • 8GB RAM; 16GB recommended
  • 2GB free disk space; 5GB recommended
  • 2GB or more GPU RAM; 4GB recommended
  • NVIDIA® graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro®/NVIDIA GeForce®/Tesla™ with at least NVIDIA Fermi™ chip; Dual-GPU setup with at least NVIDIA Maxwell™ cards for the best experience
NVIDIA Pascal cards are not supported in SOLIDWORKS Visualize 2017 SP0. This includes the following graphics cards: Tesla P100, Tesla P40, Tesla P4, Quadro P6000, Quadro P5000, GTX 1060, GTX 1070, and GTX 1080. Support is expected to be released in a SOLIDWORKS Visualize 2017 service pack.
  • NVIDIA driver version 362.13 recommended
  • NVIDIA driver support for CUDA® 7.5 or newer required
  • HDR Light Studio connection: HDR Light Studio v5.3.3 or newer
If non-NVIDIA graphics cards are installed, SOLIDWORKS Visualize will default to the CPU and not utilize these cards for GPU-acceleration.
