Copy with Mates PropertyManager

When you create additional instances of a component in an assembly, use this PropertyManager to include mates from the original instance.

Copy with Mates cannot be used on components containing advanced, mechanical, or lock mates.

To open the Copy with Mates PropertyManager:

Click Copy with Mates Tool_CopyWithMates_Assembly.gif (Assembly toolbar) or Insert > Component > Copy with Mates .
You can create multiple instances without closing the PropertyManager. Set options for the first copy as described below, then click PM_OK.gif. The PropertyManager remains open so you can create additional copies of the component. Click PM_OK.gif again to close the PropertyManager.

Selected Components

Components to Copy Lists the components you select to copy. Select one or more components in the graphics area or FeatureManager design tree.
Click PM_next.gif to advance to the Mates page of the PropertyManager.

Mates

Lists the mates associated with the components you selected to copy.

Copy this Mate Selects or clears a mate for copying. Initially, all mates are selected to be copied. You can click to clear mates that are not needed in the new instances of the component.

When selected, the mate is copied.

When cleared, the mate is not copied.

  Repeat Uses the same reference and mate alignment for the new mate as is used in the original mate.
You can select Repeat for all mates and change one or more of the mates later. Depending on the mating scheme, the copied component will be added in the same location or offset from the original.
  New Entity to Mate to Specifies a new reference for the mate. Select the new mate reference in the graphics area. Click Flip Mate Alignment flip_dir.png Button to flip the component direction.
