Component Library Fields

The component library contains the following fields:

Field Description
Part Number A unique value for each component. The value in this field must match values in the From Part or To Part fields in the from-to list.
SOLIDWORKS Document The name of the SOLIDWORKS part for this component, such as db15e.sldprt or c:\myparts\plug.sldprt. This can be a relative pathname (relative to the location of the component library .xml file) or a full pathname.
Configuration The configuration of the SOLIDWORKS part to use for this component.
Description A text description of the component. This field is for information only; the value is not used by the software.
Pins List A comma-delimited list of pin names/numbers (for example, 1,2,3,4,5 or In,Out,Gnd). This field is used only when you create a harness drawing.
Terminals A comma-delimited list of terminal part numbers that apply to the connector (for example, 3289435,34872634,485903). This field is used only when you create a harness drawing.
Size (Gauge) A numeric value or dash-delimited range of values representing the allowable sizes of terminals or wires that can fit into the connector's pin cavities (for example, 2.5 or 2.5-4.0 for millimeters, or 20 or 20-24 for gauge.). This field is used only when you create a harness drawing.
Plug The part number of the plug used with the component.
