Main Toolbar

The main toolbar appears near the top of the 3D Viewport. The tools available in the toolbar depend on which version of SOLIDWORKS Visualize is installed.

The main toolbar in SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard contains these buttons:

The main toolbar in SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional also includes a section to the left of the buttons that allows you to manage configurations.

The toolbar buttons on the right let you choose how to view and manipulate the model. The choices you make are reflected in the button icons. For example, the default selections are:

If you select Preview for Render Selection and Scale for Object Manipulation Tools, the toolbar changes to show your selections:

  • Configuration Tools

    As you edit a scene, the cumulative cause-and-effect result of your actions is what you see on screen. Your edits are part of the configuration you were in when you made them. When you create a project, the base configuration is automatically selected, so all edits are included in the base configuration.

  • Render Selection Tools

    The Render Selection tools in the main toolbar let you select the realtime rendering mode.

  • Turntable Tools

    You can use a turntable for a model to make a series of renderings that show the model rotating around its own center or around the world origin.

  • Selection Tools

    Selection Tools let you choose what is selected when you click an object.

  • Object Manipulation Tools

    The Object Manipulation Tools display the transform manipulator to let you visually move, scale, or pivot (rotate) a model. You can also manipulate the projections that you use in texture mapping modes.

  • Camera Tools

    Select Camera Tools to set the camera's behavior relative to the camera's look-at point, which is the point in the scene that the camera is focused on.

  • Output Tools

    The Output Tools in the main toolbar let you set options for the rendering output.
