When the SOLIDWORKS software attempts to repair a corrupt file and cannot
resolve the problem, the software prompts you with an option to extract geometry if the body
data of the file is still intact.
If you accept this option, the software imports the geometry from the corrupted
file into a new file. You can use the geometry and add features to create a new
model. However, the new file will not have the feature history associated with the
imported geometry.
