Purging Configuration Data

To reduce the size of files and the time required to save them, you can purge the cached configuration data of inactive configurations.

Purging the Data Manually

You can manually purge the data of inactive configurations.

At the top of the ConfigurationManager or FeatureManager design tree, right-click the model name and click an option:
  • To purge the data, click Rebuild on Save Mark, and click Remove Mark and Purge Data for All Configurations.

    Removes the Rebuild on Save mark from all configurations including the active configuration. Purges the data for all configurations except the active configuration.

  • To purge the display lists, click Display Data Mark and then click Remove Mark and Purge Data for All Configurations.

    Removes the Display Data mark from all configurations including the active configuration. Purges the display list data for all configurations except the active configuration.

Purging the Data Automatically

You can automatically purge the data every time you save the document.

Click Tools > Options > System Options > Performance and select Purge cached configuration data.
Every time you save the document:
  • With the purge option selected:
    • Purges data for all inactive configurations marked with or .
    • Saves data only for the active configuration marked with or , and inactive configurations marked with .
  • With the purge option cleared:
    • Rebuilds and saves data for all configurations marked with , , , or .
    • Purges data for all configurations marked with .
