Comparing Component Orientation Options

To compare the component orientation options:

  1. Open system_dir:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS 2020\samples\whatsnew\assemblies\mirror_pattern\TopAssembly.SLDASM.
  2. Click Linear Component Pattern > Mirror Components (Assembly toolbar).
  3. Select Mirror Plane for Mirror Plane and select Valve assembly<1> for Component to Mirror.
  4. Click Next to Step 2: Set Orientation.
  5. Under Mirror Type, select Component origin.
  6. Under Orient Components, select a component orientation option.
    X mirrored, Y mirrored

    X and Y axes mirror about the plane.
    X mirrored and flipped, Y mirrored

    X and Y axes mirror about the plane with the X-axis direction reversed.
    X mirrored, Y mirrored and flipped

    X and Y axes mirror about the plane with the Y-axis direction reversed.
    X mirrored and flipped, Y mirrored and flipped

    X and Y axes mirror about the plane with the X and Y axes direction reversed.
