Chart Options PropertyManager

You can use the Chart Options PropertyManager to set the parameters that control the look of the legend in a plot.

To access the Chart Options PropertyManager:

Right-click the plot icon and select Chart Options or double-click the legend in the graphics area.

Display Options

Show min annotation Turns the display of the annotation of the minimum value of the plot on/off.
Show max annotation Turns the display of the annotation of the maximum value of the plot on/off.
Show plot details Displays the model name, study name, plot type, and the deformation scale of a plot.
Show legend Turns the display of the plot legend on/off.
Show Min/Max range on shown parts only Displays the minimum and the maximum values of the plot only on the shown parts. Select one of the following:

Automatic

Picks the minimum (Min) and the maximum (Max) values of the chart automatically.

Defined

Specify the minimum (Min) and the maximum (Max) values of the chart.

Automatically defined maximum value When selected, the maximum value shown on the contour plot is calculated by the program.

Clear this option to enter below a different maximum value for the contour plot.

Max Enter the maximum value of the results shown on the active plot.
Specify color for values above maximum value Select a color to apply to regions of the model with result values above the manually defined maximum value.
Automatically defined minimum value When selected, the minimum value shown on the contour plot is calculated by the program.

Clear this option to enter below a different minimum value for the contour plot.

Min Enter the minimum value of the results shown on the active plot.
Specify color for values below minimum value Select a color to apply to regions of the model with result values below the manually defined minimum value.

Position/Format

Predefined positions Sets the position of the chart to a predefined position.
Horizontal from left Specify the horizontal distance from the left of the graphics area as a percentage of the width of the window.
Vertical from top Specify the vertical distance from the top of the graphics area as a percentage of the height of the window.
When this PropertyManager is open, you can drag the chart in the graphics area to position it.
Width Controls the thickness of the chart. Available options are: Thick, Normal, Thin.
Number format Controls the display of the numeric values in the chart. Select one of the following:

scientific

Examples: 1.234e+01, -1.234e-02

floating

Decimal format like: 0.01234, -1.234

general

The program may mix scientific and floating formats based on the actual results.

No. of decimal places Sets the number of decimal places to be displayed in the chart. You can specify up to 16 decimal places to be displayed in a chart.
Use 1000 Separator (,) Displays chart numbers with 1000 comma separator when Number format is floating or general.
Use different number format for small numbers (0.001 < |x| < 1000) Displays chart numbers in the given range in floating or general format when Number format is scientific.

Color Options

Default Uses the default color map in the plot.
Rainbow Uses the rainbow color map in the plot.
Grayscale Sets the grayscale gradient map. Use this option for black and white printers.
User Defined Defines up to 9 base colors. To define a base color, click its box and choose a new color from the color palette. If the number of base colors you select here is equal to the number of chart colors, then only the selected colors will be used. In other words, no shades or color interpolation.
Optimized for Colorblindness The color scale is optimized for red-green color-blind users when viewing result plots to better assist these users with the task of interpreting simulation results.
  Flip Reverses the color mapping.
No. of chart colors Sets the number of the colors used in the chart (2 to 24).
Specify color for values above yield limit Select to set all stress values above the yield limit to a selected color. Click Edit color to change the color.

Available only for von Mises stress plots of parts and assemblies assigned the same material with a defined yield strength.

The option is not available for assemblies when multiple materials are applied to parts.
